Overnight on Wednesday, 30 October, the Israeli military fatally wounded Ahmad Imad Tazaza, 20, after shooting him directly in the chest druing a midnight raid on the village of Qabatiya, outside the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Ma'an News Agency reported.

According to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), Israeli military forces raided several houses in the village around 1 AM in order to arrest several suspects.

After storming a handful of homes, the soldiers detained Edmad Shawkat Kamail (30), Rassem Tawfiq Khzaimiya (60), Mo'men Saba'na (23) and Ayman Abdul Rahman Abu al-Rub (28). They then prepared to exit the village.

Meanwhile, around 50 young men gathered at one of the entrances of Qabatiya, laying improvised iron barriers and burning tires in the road in attempt to prevent the soldiers from leaving.

As the military convoy attempted to exit, clashes erupted between both groups. The crowd threw stones and empty bottles at the Israeli soldiers, who responded by shooting tear gas canisters, sound bombs and eventually live ammunition--an action condemned by the PCHR as proof of the use "of excessive force by Israeli forces against the Palestinian civilians in disregard for the civilians’ lives."

One of the bullets reached Ahmad Imad Tazaza, who was pronounced dead in the Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin moments after being transferred to the medical center.

According to Ma'an, a memorial service was held for Tazaza on Thursday morning, who became the seventh Palestinian in the West Bank to be killed by the Israeli military since the resumption of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority this past July.
