A Palestinian from East Jerusalem was shot and killed near Damascus Gate Saturday morning after allegedly stabbing two ultra-Orthodox Jewish men.

Israel Police Foreign Press Spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, confirmed that the attacker, who is yet to be identified, was 16 years old.

The Times of Israel reports that of the two Jewish men, aged 62 and 65, one was lightly wounded and the other moderately wounded. Both are in a stable condition.

According to Ma’an News Agency, Israeli forces used tear gas and sound grenades to disperse a crowd of Palestinians who had gathered at the scene following the attack.

The attack is the thirteenth knife attack carried out by Palestinians against Israelis across Israel and the West Bank since last Saturday.

One apparent revenge attack was carried out in Dimona Friday, in which three Palestinians and one Bedouin were injured after being stabbed by a Jewish assailant.

Overnight Friday, Palestinian Ahmad Salah, 24, was shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes in Shufat Refugee Camp in East Jerusalem.

The killing of Salah comes one day after Israeli forces shot dead Wissam Faraj, 20, during clashes in Shufat on Thursday.

Seventeen Palestinians and four Israelis have now been killed, and more than 1000 Palestinians have been injured, across Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories since Oct. 1.
