A Palestinian woman was shot by Israeli forces at a checkpoint near Tulkarem in the northern West Bank after allegedly attempting a knife attack on Israelis Tuesday morning.

Initial reports stated that the woman had been shot and killed, but her condition has not yet been confirmed.

Earlier Tuesday morning, a young Palestinian boy, identified as Mamoun Al-Khatib, 16, was shot dead by Israeli forces after allegedly attempting to stab a settler near the Israeli Gush Etzion settlement.

According to Ma’an News Agency, Al-Khatib did not wound any Israelis, but one Israeli sustained injuries from a bullet fired by Israeli forces.

Al-Khatib is from the village of Doha in the Bethlehem district of the southern West Bank.

At least 100 Palestinians and 19 Israelis have now been killed since the upsurge of violence across Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza since the beginning of October.

Of these 100, more than five Palestinians have been shot dead after alleged attacks at the Gush Etzion settlement since Oct. 1.
