Eight Israelis have been injured in four stabbing attacks today in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba, and Afula.

Just after midday today Israel Police Foreign Press Spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, confirmed that a 25 year old Israeli man was seriously injured in a knife attack next to the Jerusalem light rail.

The Palestinian suspect, identified as Subhi Ibrahim Abu Khalifeh, 19, was detained following the attack.

In Tel Aviv four Israelis, one of whom was a soldier, were injured in a stabbing attack at approximately 3 p.m.. The suspect was shot dead on the scene by an Israeli officer.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., a 25 year old Israeli man was seriously injured at the Kiryat Arba settlement after being stabbed by a Palestinian.

The suspect is still at large and is believed to have travelled in the direction of Hebron.

On Arlozorov Street in Afula, two people were stabbed, one of whom was a 20 year old IDF soldier. The attacker is now in police custody.

Metal detectors have been installed in the Old City of Jerusalem by the Israeli police force. The police describe the metal detectors as a "preventative measure" against knife attacks, Ma’an News Agency reports.

There have now been four knife attacks carried out on Israelis in Jerusalem in the past week and a total of nine across Israel and the West Bank.

An Arabic desk has been added to the Israeli police’s cyber security unit in order to monitor Palestinian activity on social media and identify potential attackers.
