A knife attack carried out in the West Bank settlement of Beit Horon near Ramallah Monday afternoon killed an Israeli woman and left another one moderately wounded. A security guard shot and killed two suspected Palestinian assailants as they attempted to flee.

According to Israeli police spokesperson Luba al-Samri, three pipe bombs, improvised explosive devices, were found near the settlement. The Israeli police believe the assailants planned a combined attack using knives and explosive devices.

One of the Israelis injured during the stabbing attack died from her wounds Tuesday in the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. The 24-year-old woman was identified by Israeli media as Shlomit Krigman. Another Israeli woman was moderately wounded in the stabbing attack.

The suspected attackers were identified by the Palestinian Ministry of Health as 23-year-old Ibrahim Osama Yousif Allan, from the village of Beit Ur at-Tahta, and 17-year-old Hussein Muhammad Abu Ghush from the Qalandiya refugee camp. Both were shot and killed by a security guard employed by the Beit Horon community.

Following the attack on Monday, access to Beit Ur at-Tahta was sealed by Israeli military forces and continued to be closed Tuesday with the exception of medical emergencies, Ma’an news reported.
