I have expressed our gratitude to the group of people who worked hard to pass The Control of Economic Activity (Occupied Territories Bill) in Ireland this week.

It is those with whom we cooperated with for the last year and half, particularly Senator Black who presented the bill and rejected all pressures from the Israel side and the parties and members of the senate who supported this bill.
We, as Palestinian activists, give very important appreciation to civil society and solidarity groups in Ireland, especially the Ireland Palestine Alliance/Sadaka, Trocaire, Christian Aid, ICTU and PIPD.
We consider this unprecedented bill will make a big change in Europe.
Now that it has passed in the senate and hopefully later in the parliament, it will open the road for each European country to pass similar rules to forbid products from illegal settlements.
This is a big success for boycotting the occupation and its products as well as the cause for Palestinian people and justice.
The bill came out of an excellent cooperation between Irish and Palestinian organisations.
It shows the success of good lobbying and advocacy, which can be productive if well planned and done strategically.
On speaking to the people in the Irish senate yesterday, they expressed their support to people of Khan al Ahmar who are still struggling to survive against the ethnic cleansing plans of Israel.
