School stormed by Israeli forces near to Bethlehem

On November 11, Israeli forces stormed the boys school of Tareq Bin Zayed, in the town of Tuqu’, situated 12 kilometers southeast of Bethlehem.

 
The Palestinian students were participating in a peaceful rally commemorating the 14th anniversary of the death of the former Palestinian president, Yasser Arafat.
 
The Israeli forces injured dozens of Palestinians students, shooting tears gas and rubber bullets.
 
According to Maan news, the Israeli forces detained, for a short time, the school’s principal and the other staff members.
 
The Israeli forces, forced the students to evacuate the premises, with the purpose to take control of the high school and shut it down.
 
Later in the day they closed the two main entrances of the town of Tuqu’.
 
The school of Tuqu’ has been a target earlier during the year, on February 26, 2018.
 
At this time, a Palestinian teacher suffered from pepper spray used by the Israel forces.
 
At this time, the Israeli forces wanted to remove a poster commemorating of Qusay Hassan Al-Umour, who was 17 years old.
 
He had been shot dead by Israeli forces in the middle January in the town of Tuqu’.
 
A spokesman for the Palestinian education ministry stated; “Assaults on schools and students by Israel forces and settlers are on the rise.”
 
He deplored that several Palestinians schools across the West Bank have been attacked by Israel forces in recents weeks, as reported by Middle East Monitor.
 
The Israeli forces often attack the schools, with the purpose to block the education of the young Palestinians.
